Hamburg, Germany – January 16, 2026 – Borussia Dortmund’s promising 19-year-old defender, Almugera Kabar, is reportedly nearing a transfer to Hamburger SV, according to a report from Germany’s Ruhr Nachrichten newspaper. The young centre-back, who has been linked with a move away from BVB for some time, including interest from Premier League side Brentford, currently holds an estimated market value of €3 million.

Kabar’s Rising Profile and Performance

Kabar was a key member of Christian Wück’s Germany U17 World Cup-winning squad in November 2023. Following this success, the left-back made five appearances for the BVB first team in the Bundesliga. This year, Kabar has primarily featured for the BVB reserves in the Regionalliga, where he has had a highly successful autumn, scoring four goals and providing one assist in 10 appearances for BVB II.

Hamburg’s Project Appeals to Kabar
