Applies to: All winter sports enthusiasts in and around Munich
The MVV Ski Pass, an innovative offering from the Munich Transport and Tariff Association (MVV), makes it easier and more sustainable than ever to enjoy the slopes of Munich’s local mountains. This combined ticket includes round-trip travel by train and bus, plus a day ski pass, eliminating the need for parking and reducing your carbon footprint.
WHAT IS THE MVV SKI PASS?
The MVV Ski Pass is a special ticket that combines public transport (train and bus) with a day ski pass for selected ski resorts. It allows winter sports enthusiasts to travel from Munich to the slopes without the hassle of traffic jams or parking.
WHICH SKI AREAS ARE INCLUDED?
Until the end of March 2026, the MVV Ski Pass is valid for:
- Brauneck
- Spitzingsee
- Sudelfeld
New for 2026: Since January 1, 2026, the MVV Ski Pass has also been extended to:
- Garmisch-Classic
- Garmisch-Zugspitze
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The MVV Ski Pass includes an MVV travel authorization for zones M-12 for the round trip to and from the respective ski area on the same day. It is valid on all MVV transport means. Upon presenting your MVV Ski Pass ticket at the ski resort, you will receive your day ski pass.
TRAVEL TIMES & BENEFITS
Travel from Munich Central Station to the ski areas is efficient:
- Garmisch-Hausbergbahn or Talstation Hausberg in Garmisch-Partenkirchen: Approx. 1.5 hours (via regional train and free ski bus transfer to the slopes).
- Brauneckbahn in Lenggries: Approx. 1.5 hours.
By using the MVV Ski Pass, you not only avoid motorway traffic and the search for parking but also significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions compared to driving an average car.
