Munich Public Transport Strike: What’s Running and What’s Not on February 3, 2026
Munich is experiencing widespread disruption to its public transport system today, Monday, February 3, 2026, as the Verdi union initiates a nationwide warning strike. The strike affects all municipal transport services, including U-Bahn, Trams, and all bus lines up to and including line 199, operated by Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft (MVG).

U-Bahn Services:
- All U-Bahn lines remain suspended for the entire day due to safety concerns.
- The Neuperlach Zentrum U-Bahn station, among others, is closed.
Tram Services:
- Tram line 20 (between Stachus and Moosach Bahnhof) is currently operating and is expected to run until approximately 8:00 PM.

Verdi’s Demands:
The Verdi union is advocating for significant improvements for public transport employees. Their demands include:

- Reduction of the weekly working hours from 38.5 to 35 hours without a loss of pay.
