Berlin, February 14, 2026 – The German Architecture Center (DAZ) in Berlin is set to host the Campus Masters 2025 award ceremony on Friday, February 20, 2026. This prestigious event, organized by BauNetz Campus, will also include a compelling discussion under the thought-provoking title: “Post New: Now What?”. The evening promises to bring together leading voices from academia, student life, and professional practice to delve into the evolving landscape of architectural design.

A Paradigm Shift: From New Builds to Transformation

The submissions for this year’s Campus Masters clearly indicate a significant shift in architectural focus. Once the epitome of architectural vision, new construction has become a marginal phenomenon. Nearly all the distinguished graduation projects emphasize rebuilding, extending, and transforming existing structures rather than starting anew.

Key Questions Driving the Discussion

The discussion panel will address several critical questions central to this transformation:

  • What is the self-perception of graduates entering the professional world today?
  • Does the commitment to preservation and care lose momentum in daily office life?
  • How does one design when the focus on existing structures encompasses not only building substance but also people, stories, norms, and resistances?

The drive to build remains strong, but its direction is changing. The panel will explore how this change is unfolding between intrinsic motivation and moral requirements.

Distinguished Panelists and Moderators

The panel discussion will feature prominent figures in the architectural field, including Nelli Fritzler (Rurbane Realitäten), Yvonne Kavermann (BauNetz Wissen), Killian Reuser (Campus Masters 2024 Award Winner), and Tobias Schrammek (Supertype Group). Tim Simon-Meyer (Bauhaus-Universität Weimar) has also been invited to participate, alongside the Campus Masters 2025 award winners. The evening will be moderated by Philipp Ludwig, Katharina Lux, and Sorana Radulescu from BauNetz Campus.

Event Details and Support

The award ceremony and discussion are scheduled for February 20, 2026, at 6:00 PM. The venue is the Deutsches Architektur Zentrum DAZ, located at Wilhelmine-Gemberg-Weg 6, Entrance H1, 10179 Berlin. Attendees are kindly requested to register in advance.

The event is supported by leading design and lighting companies, including HAY, serien lighting, Trilux, Objekte unserer Tage, and ARCH+. GIRA proudly sponsors the Campus Masters Award.

This event serves as a crucial platform for discussing the future of architecture, highlighting sustainable practices, and recognizing innovative approaches that prioritize transformation and adaptation over new construction. It offers a unique opportunity for students, professionals, and enthusiasts to engage with the evolving challenges and opportunities in the built environment.
