BSR Offers Free Bulky Waste Collection in Berlin – March 2026 Schedule

Normally, Berlin residents have to take their bulky waste to a recycling center themselves. However, the Berliner Stadtreinigung (BSR) is providing a convenient solution with its ‘Kieztage’ (neighborhood days). During these events, residents can dispose of their bulky waste free of charge directly in their neighborhood.

In addition to bulky waste collection, the ‘Kieztage’ also feature a swap and gift market. Items that are still usable can find new owners, promoting sustainability. Anything not taken is entered into the BSR’s ‘Re-Use’ cycle, for example, through the ‘NochMall’, the BSR’s second-hand department store.

What can you bring?

  • Bulky waste
  • Waste wood
  • Mattresses
  • Electrical appliances
  • Old textiles
  • Well-preserved items for the swap market

What is NOT allowed?

  • Paints, varnishes, solvents
  • Construction debris
  • Batteries
  • Old medicines
