Federal Government Boosts Cap San Diego Restoration with €500,000 Grant
Hamburg, March 5 – The iconic Hamburg museum ship Cap San Diego is set to undergo vital restoration work, with the federal government pledging a significant financial contribution. Falko Droßmann, a Social Democratic Party (SPD) member of the Bundestag from Hamburg, announced that half a million euros will be provided to aid in the ship’s much-needed refurbishment.
This federal grant comes as a crucial boost for the historic vessel, which requires an estimated two million euros for its complete restoration. The Stiftung Hamburger Admiralität, the foundation that owns the Cap San Diego, had previously highlighted the substantial financial needs for the project.
