Berlin, March 7 – Google officially inaugurated its first Artificial Intelligence (AI) center in Germany on March 5, establishing a new hub for AI innovation in Berlin. The event brought together prominent representatives from political, business, and scientific communities, including Federal Research Minister Dorothee Bär, Federal Digital Minister Karsten Wildberger, and Berlin’s Governing Mayor Kai Wegner. Among the distinguished guests was Professor Fabian Theis from Helmholtz Munich and the Technical University of Munich (TUM), a Principal Investigator at the German Centre for Cardiovascular Research (DZHK).
Google.org Funds Two Healthcare AI Projects Led by Fabian Theis
In conjunction with the center’s opening, Google.org’s “AI for Science Fund” selected two AI research projects involving Professor Theis for funding. These projects are part of a global initiative supporting twelve research endeavors worldwide with a total of two million U.S. dollars.
