Berlin, March 26 – An 11-year-old child sustained foot injuries yesterday evening after being struck by a tram in the Neu-Hohenschönhausen district of Berlin. The incident, which occurred around 6 PM, is currently under investigation by a specialized traffic crimes unit of the Berlin police.

According to initial police findings and eyewitness statements, a 39-year-old tram driver was pulling into the tram stop at Falkenberger Chaussee/Prendener Straße/Vincent-van-Gogh-Straße when the child stumbled in the platform area and was subsequently hit by the tram. The injured child was transported to a hospital for inpatient treatment for foot injuries. The tram driver and his 50-year-old companion also received outpatient treatment at a hospital following the incident.
