Munich, March 26, 2026 – Chinese automotive manufacturer Leapmotor has inaugurated its first European Innovation Center, the “Leapmotor Europe Innovation Center GmbH,” in Munich. This establishment marks a pivotal moment in the company’s international expansion, moving beyond mere product export and signaling a new phase in its globalization strategy.

Strategic Milestone for European Expansion

The new center is a significant milestone for Leapmotor, which previously entered a joint venture with the Stellantis Group for the European market. The Leapmotor Europe Innovation Center GmbH is envisioned as a creative hub where the brand’s core values-clarity, balance, sophistication, and emotionality-will be integrated with the philosophy of technological natural aesthetics. This will be achieved through close collaboration with leading European innovators, as metaphorically described by the manufacturer.

The development center aims to deepen the integration of advanced global design concepts and technologies, enhance understanding of international trends and consumer expectations, and continuously refine Leapmotor’s design language to create products with broad global appeal.

Introducing Global Design Concepts with the B03X

During the inauguration event, Yu Shuyue, Head of Leapmotor’s Global Design Center, presented the brand’s design concept using the new B03X model. This electric SUV is designed to appeal to a wider range of potential customers with its global aesthetic. Based on “Scientific and Technological Natural Aesthetics 2.0,” the B03X is set to strengthen the brand’s design DNA.

Driving Innovation and Global Competitiveness

With the opening of the European Innovation Center and the rapid expansion of its global business, Leapmotor is committed to driving innovation. Design will serve as a strategic bridge in this endeavor, enabling Leapmotor to develop products with high global competitiveness.

This initiative follows Leapmotor’s accelerated expansion in Europe, supported by strong sales figures and a growing dealer and workshop network within Stellantis. Earlier reports indicated Stellantis’ consideration of using Leapmotor technology in European electric cars due to cost pressures, highlighting the increasing influence of the Chinese brand.

Leapmotor’s presence in the Stellantis portfolio has been noted, with models like the Leapmotor C10 with Range-Extender garnering attention as a “hot commodity from the Far East.” The brand has also made headlines with aggressive leasing offers, such as the Leapmotor T03 for a short-term monthly cost of 15 Euros.

The company’s rapid growth and strategic moves indicate a significant shift in the global electric vehicle market, with Chinese manufacturers like Leapmotor increasingly challenging established players and shaping future trends in automotive design and technology.
