Munich Police Crack Down on Illegal Street Racing: Two Incidents in One Night

Despite the reduced speed limit, the driver continued to perform multiple lane changes and overtaking maneuvers at speeds over 100 km/h.
At Leopoldstrasse 71, near Münchner Freiheit, officers successfully conducted a traffic stop. The driver was identified as a 19-year-old male from the Erding district. He was prohibited from continuing his journey, and his car keys were confiscated. The young driver now faces charges for participating in an illegal car race.
Second Incident: Two 18-Year-Olds Caught Racing at High Speeds
Just a few hours later, around 3:00 AM, another police patrol on Leopoldstrasse observed two vehicles, both Mercedes, driving outbound at speeds well over 100 km/h. The officers intercepted the two cars at the intersection of Ingolstädter Strasse and Frankfurter Ring.
The drivers, two 18-year-old males from the Munich district, were charged with illegal motor vehicle racing. Their driving licenses were immediately confiscated as part of the ongoing investigation. The Munich traffic police are now investigating both cases.
