Influencer Daniel Tonnar Leyva Organizes Large Easter Egg Hunt in Munich’s Olympiapark

Munich, April 6th – Munich-based influencer Daniel Tonnar Leyva hosted a large Easter egg hunt in the city’s iconic Olympiapark yesterday evening, April 5th, 2026. Following an Instagram call, a thousand cardboard eggs, sponsored by an online supermarket, were hidden throughout the park. Finders were able to redeem these eggs for chocolate, both at the supermarket and on-site at the event.

“Germany’s Largest Easter Egg Hunt”?

Tonnar Leyva promoted the event as “Germany’s largest Easter egg hunt,” although the veracity of this claim remained unconfirmed. The Olympiapark itself described the event more modestly as “Munich’s largest Easter egg hunt.” The activity was part of a broader Easter festival held around the Olympiaturm, featuring clown shows, craft stations, and a fairy tale tent.

Not His First Major Event

This is not the first large-scale event the influencer has organized in Munich. In late February, he called for a snowball fight in front of the Alte Pinakothek, which attracted hundreds of people. However, that event was not officially registered. Tonnar Leyva aims to avoid repeating this oversight. He has already expressed interest in organizing “Germany’s largest water fight” for the summer, he stated upon inquiry.

Easter Celebrations and Other News

The Easter egg hunt coincided with other Easter-related news. On April 5th, BR24 reported on the Christian significance of Easter, the symbolism of the Easter bunny and eggs, and why the holiday falls on a different date each year.

Other recent news from the region includes the discovery of a deceased 33-year-old man in Breitenbrunn, Allgäu, on April 4th, with criminal police investigating the circumstances. Furthermore, an alcohol-free wheat beer from Upper Bavaria was recalled on April 4th due to potential alcohol content. The brewery warned that 0.5-liter bottles could undergo secondary fermentation, leading to pressure build-up and a risk of bursting.

In international news, Iran accused former US President Trump of planning war crimes on April 5th, following his threats to destroy power plants and bridges in Iran. A missing crew member from a downed US fighter jet in Iran was reportedly rescued.

BR24 also announced on March 21st, 2025, that it would be offering news and updates directly via WhatsApp through its own channel, providing Bavarian news, exclusive interviews, in-depth research, fact checks, and podcasts.

The Bavarian Radio (BR) Mediathek continues to offer a wide range of films, series, documentaries, reports, and magazines from the broadcaster, available anytime and anywhere.
