Munich’s Olympic Park, the venue for the 1972 Summer Olympics, has expanded its leisure offerings with a new attraction. Since last Saturday, visitors have had access to the “SAYAQ Adventure Tower” – a high ropes course supplied by the Bavarian company KristallTurm®.

Olympic Park: A Hub for Leisure and Events

Today, Munich’s Olympic Park serves as a versatile leisure and event destination for tourists and locals alike. In addition to recreational and cultural activities, SAYAQ Adventures operates various outdoor experiences on-site, including the “Flying Fox” zipline, the tent roof tour over the Olympic Stadium, and SUP courses. Due to ongoing renovation work at the Olympic Stadium, the Flying Fox and tent roof tour offerings are currently suspended. The new high ropes course is therefore intended to serve as an alternative experience.

The SAYAQ Adventure Tower: Features and Thrills

The facility is a “KT-7” model from KristallTurm, standing approximately 22 meters (72 feet) high and featuring three levels. From the top floor, climbers can enjoy views of the Olympic Stadium on one side and the Olympic Lake and the television tower on the other. A total of 36 climbing stations with varying degrees of difficulty are available. For an extra adrenaline rush, an abseiling station allows climbers to descend 18 meters (59 feet) to the ground.

Future Expansion: Observation Deck

By the end of April, an observation deck will be added to the tower. This platform, covering an area of approximately 170 square meters (1,830 square feet), will accommodate up to 80 people and offer impressive views of the Olympic Stadium.

“As a company from Lenggries, we are particularly pleased that we were able to realize a project almost right on our doorstep – and in such a special location in Munich’s Olympic Park!” explained Michael Haller, Managing Director of KristallTurm.

The new high ropes course aims to provide an exciting outdoor activity for visitors during the renovation period and beyond, further enhancing the Olympic Park’s reputation as a prime destination for recreation and adventure.
