Potsdam, May 2 – Brandenburg’s Education and Sports Minister, Gordon Hoffmann (CDU), has welcomed the allocation of millions of euros for the renovation of sports facilities in Germany’s municipalities. Brandenburg is set to benefit from 12 projects with a total sum of approximately 6.4 million euros in the first funding round of the federal program, as announced by his ministry. This significant investment is expected to lead to “better training and competition conditions for our athletes,” Hoffmann stated.

The funding will be distributed across several locations throughout the state. The largest single allocation, 1.1 million euros, is earmarked for the renovation of the outdoor swimming pool in Golzow (Märkisch-Oderland district). Additionally, nearly 800,000 euros will support the construction of a new sports function building in Zühlsdorf (Oberhavel district).
