Alarm in Bergedorf: High Number of Right-Wing Extremist Incidents Reported

Hamburg, May 8 – The district of Hamburg-Bergedorf is currently experiencing a significant number of right-wing and right-wing extremist incidents. This information comes from a Senate response to a minor inquiry by The Left Party. Since January 2025, the Senate has listed a total of 129 such incidents for the district.

Among the 129 recorded cases are Hitler salutes, NS-graffiti, and threats. The figures are derived from two sources: the new Hamburg reporting center for antisemitic, racist, and right-wing incidents, and the police, who record politically motivated crimes. In 44 cases, suspects were identified, leading to a total of 49 accused individuals.

Bergedorf Identified as a Hotspot for Young Neo-Nazis

Specialized agencies across Hamburg are observing an increasingly aggressive stance from right-wing groups, particularly among young people. For Bergedorf, the situation is particularly clear, according to experts: The Mobile Consulting Team against Right-Wing Extremism describes the district as a “hotspot for young neo-Nazis” in Hamburg.

Senate Names Specific Meeting Points of the Scene

In its response, the Senate also identified specific locations where right-wing groups gather, including the area around the Schlosspark, Bergedorf train station, and the City Center. Since summer 2024, the police have issued a total of twelve expulsions and six bans from these areas. The Left Party is drawing conclusions from these figures and is calling for a “Master Plan against Racism and Fascism” for the Bergedorf district.

Right-Wing Violence: Hamburg Police Report Sharp Increase in Cases

The police were notified of almost 300 more cases of right-wing violence in 2025 than in the previous year.
