Berlin, May 14 – Berlin police deployed a taser during an operation in Mariendorf after a man locked a visitor in his apartment and threatened him. The incident occurred on Ascension Day, prompting an emergency response to a multi-family house in Mariendorf following cries for help from a 50-year-old man.
According to police reports, the 50-year-old man was visiting a 33-year-old resident. The situation escalated after both individuals had consumed drugs, with the host becoming increasingly aggressive. He then informed his visitor that he would not be allowed to leave the apartment and proceeded to threaten him with a baseball bat.
Victim Seeks Refuge, Police Intervene
The 50-year-old victim managed to lock himself in the bathroom and called for help from the window. Upon the arrival of police officers, the 33-year-old suspect positioned himself in the hallway, armed with the baseball bat, and attempted to attack them.
A police officer, after issuing a warning, deployed an electroshock weapon to subdue the aggressor. The man was subsequently arrested and transported to a psychiatric ward at a hospital. The exact nature of the relationship between the two men remains unclear at this time.
