Turkish Mafia’s Bloody Trail: The ‘Daltons’ Reign of Terror in German Cities
A bloody war waged by Turkish Gen-Z mafia groups has gripped German streets, with Berlin police reporting a surge in shootings and extortion since 2024. Never before have so many weapons been in circulation, fueling a wave of violence across the country.
Behind this escalating conflict are Turkish-Kurdish networks, adopting names like the ‘Daltons’, ‘Ezgins’, ‘Caspers’, and ‘Sirinler’ (Smurfs), operating independently. These groups recruit vulnerable young men, often from refugee shelters, luring them with drugs and promises of money, turning them into disposable shooters for their illicit activities.
Their crimes consistently make headlines. BILD has traced the bloody trail of the ‘Daltons’:
The Incidents: A Chronology of Violence
- March 30, 2024, Berlin: A Turk with a Belgian passport is shot dead in Berlin’s tourist district at Checkpoint Charlie. A leading figure of the Turkish mafia is suspected to be behind the attack.
- Early March 2025, Berlin: A recruited ‘Daltons’ helper carries out attacks on branches of a market chain in Berlin, firing several bullets through the entrance windows. The motive: protection money extortion. The perpetrator is caught and sentenced by the Berlin district court to a juvenile sentence of 2 years and 9 months.
- Late March 2025, Berlin: A 21-year-old ‘Daltons’ helper shoots a Berlin businessman seven times in the legs from a distance of five meters. The act was a targeted punishment and intimidation tactic. The shooter was apprehended and confessed.
- October 2025, Hanover: A 27-year-old man, allegedly a confidant of the now-deceased Berlin clan boss Mehmet K., is shot dead. The ‘Daltons’ are also suspected as the masterminds here. The alleged perpetrator is currently on trial, with a verdict expected shortly.
- Late 2025, Berlin: Several pistol attacks occur on a large Berlin driving school. The motive: protection money extortion.
- December 2025, Berlin-Kreuzberg: Two masked men throw a live hand grenade into an empty club, causing an explosion. Investigators link the incident to the Turkish mafia.
Recruitment and Tactics: The Exploitation of Vulnerability
The recruitment strategy of these mafia groups is particularly alarming. They target young men with limited prospects, offering them a false sense of belonging and financial gain. This exploitation of vulnerable individuals fuels their criminal enterprises and perpetuates a cycle of violence.
The Unanswered Questions: Justice and Public Safety
The escalating violence raises critical questions about the effectiveness of law enforcement and the justice system in combating these organized crime networks. The sheer number of weapons in circulation and the brazenness of the attacks underscore the urgent need for a comprehensive strategy to address this growing threat to public safety.
As these mafia groups continue to operate with apparent impunity, the public demands answers and concrete action to dismantle these networks and restore order to German cities.
