Hamburg/Mallorca, May 19, 2026 – The disappearance of 33-year-old Anna W. from Hamburg on the Spanish island of Mallorca has left her family in despair and police baffled. Anna W. was last seen on April 13, and despite ongoing investigations by Spanish authorities, there has been no trace of her since. Her family has launched public appeals for help, fearing for her safety.

Mysterious Disappearance After Moving to Mallorca

Anna W., a native Pole who had lived in Hamburg for approximately ten years, moved to Mallorca in November 2025 to start a new life. Friends describe her as lively, independent, and an experienced solo traveler, making her sudden disappearance particularly alarming to her loved ones.

The last known contact with Anna W. was on April 13. She was exchanging SMS messages with her brother when the conversation abruptly ceased. Since then, no one in her circle has been able to establish personal contact with her, as reported by the “Mallorca Magazin.”

Cryptic Instagram Messages Add to Confusion

Days after her disappearance, the family received perplexing messages via an unknown Instagram account. These messages claimed that Anna W. had been attacked and robbed on a beach in Palma, with her phone, passport, and other personal documents allegedly stolen. However, it remains unclear whether these messages were genuinely sent by Anna W. or are part of a deception.

Spanish authorities confirmed to the Polish news magazine “Fakt” that the 33-year-old had indeed reported a theft. Following this report, however, no further contact was made with her.

Family’s Desperate Plea for Public Assistance

Anna W.’s sister is convinced that her sibling would have contacted them if she were able. The family has published multiple appeals for help on social media, urging anyone with information to come forward.

Anna W. is described as approximately 1.75 meters tall, slender, with medium-length brown hair with light streaks, and blue eyes. A distinctive vaccination scar on her left shoulder has also been noted, according to the Spanish magazine “Última Hora.”

As of now, there are no concrete leads regarding what transpired after the reported robbery. Investigations on Mallorca are continuing, and her family clings to the hope that Anna W. will be found alive.

Wider Context of Disappearances and Safety Concerns

This case adds to a series of recent incidents involving missing persons and safety concerns. For example, a similar incident in Berlin involved a 33-year-old woman seriously injured by a falling branch, and a tragic case in Frankfurt saw a teenager identified from the Main River, with her father subsequently arrested. While these are unrelated, they highlight broader anxieties about personal safety.

The family’s anguish is palpable, and the lack of information only exacerbates their distress. The police are pursuing all possible avenues, but without concrete evidence, the mystery deepens.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers that can arise, even in seemingly safe environments. Tourists and residents alike are often advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to local authorities.

The hope remains that continued public awareness and police efforts will lead to a breakthrough in Anna W.’s case, bringing resolution to her anxious family and friends.
