Berlin/Potsdam (dpa/bb) – The Whitsun weekend is bringing summer weather to Berlin and Brandenburg. Temperatures are expected to climb to a maximum of 27 to 29 degrees Celsius on Saturday, with some areas even reaching 30 degrees, according to the German Weather Service. The sun will shine brightly, with only a few high clouds appearing around midday.

Saturday: Sunny and Hot

Saturday will be dominated by clear skies and high temperatures. Residents and visitors can expect ideal conditions for outdoor activities, as the mercury rises steadily throughout the day. The peak temperatures will be felt in the late afternoon, making it a perfect day for enjoying the start of the long weekend.

Night to Sunday: Isolated Showers and Cooling

During the night into Sunday, isolated short showers are possible, and temperatures will cool down to between 11 and 15 degrees Celsius. This brief respite from the heat will set the stage for a slightly cloudier start to Sunday.

Sunday: Cloudy Start, Then Clearing and Warmth

Sunday will begin with cloudy skies, and isolated rain showers may occur. However, most of the day will remain dry, and the clouds are expected to gradually dissipate by midday. Temperatures will be similar to Saturday, ranging from 24 to 29 degrees Celsius from north to south.

Night to Monday: Clear Skies and Mild

The night into Monday will see very few clouds in the sky, with no rain expected. Overnight lows will be between 8 and 13 degrees Celsius, providing a comfortable night’s rest before the final day of the long weekend.

Monday: Continued Summer Conditions

Summer-like conditions will persist on Monday, with temperatures reaching highs of 25 to 29 degrees Celsius. The sun will continue to shine, ensuring a pleasant end to the Whitsun weekend. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and take precautions against the sun during these warm days.

Outlook for the Region

This period of warm weather is a welcome change for many, marking a clear shift towards summer. The consistent sunshine and high temperatures are expected to draw many people to parks, lakes, and other outdoor recreational areas across Berlin and Brandenburg. Local authorities remind the public to be mindful of fire safety, especially in forested areas, given the dry conditions associated with prolonged sunshine.

The German Weather Service will continue to monitor the weather patterns and provide updates if there are any significant changes. For now, the forecast promises a beautiful and warm Whitsun weekend for the region.
