Hamburg, May 26 – Couples in Hamburg can now conveniently reserve their wedding dates online. This new digital service has already been implemented in the Wandsbek and Altona districts since the beginning of the month. The Hamburg Senate confirmed this development in response to a minor inquiry from the CDU.
Digital Wedding Calendar to Expand City-Wide by July
The digital wedding calendar, currently in a testing phase in Wandsbek and Altona, is scheduled to be available in the remaining five districts by the end of July. According to the Department for Finance and Districts, the duration for which a wedding appointment can be tentatively reserved varies between districts at present.
Online Search and Reservation for Couples
The new digital appointment system aims to standardize and simplify the process. Future brides and grooms will be able to search for and reserve both wedding ceremony appointments and registration appointments online, as stated in the Senate’s response.
Significant Differences in Appointment Availability Across Districts
The availability of wedding appointments has also been significantly expanded. However, the Senate’s response also highlights notable disparities among the districts. For instance, Eimsbüttel currently has approximately 380 available appointments, while Altona only has 55.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize public services in Hamburg, making them more accessible and user-friendly for citizens. The city aims to provide a more consistent and efficient experience for couples planning their weddings.
