Jazz Summer at Bayerischer Hof 2026: A Celebration of Freedom, Hope, and Community

Munich, May 29, 2026 – The Hotel Bayerischer Hof, a long-standing fixture in Munich’s jazz scene, proudly announces the return of its annual Jazz Summer festival. Running from July 27 to August 1, 2026, this year’s festival is themed “What The World Needs Now,” aiming to highlight jazz as a music of freedom, hope, and community.

The Hotel Bayerischer Hof has been a co-organizer of the legendary “Klaviersommer” since 1991, which evolved into the Jazz Summer in 2006. It remains Munich’s only international jazz festival, drawing renowned artists from across the globe.

An Eclectic Line-up of International Jazz Stars

The festival will commence with a performance by South African legend Abdullah Ibrahim, an icon of the anti-apartheid movement and one of jazz’s most significant pianists. Following this, the New York Sirius Quartet will join German trumpeter Joo Kraus in the Night Club for a transatlantic musical encounter.

Further enriching the program, Jowee Omicil will present his unique blend of jazz, spirituality, and world music, supported by Moroccan singer Malika Zarra. Daniel Garcia Diego and his trio will bridge diverse musical worlds, incorporating jazz, flamenco, and Arabic influences.

A European premiere is anticipated with the performance of Puerto Rican singer/songwriter Fabiola Mendez, known for her collaboration with Bad Bunny and her international acclaim. The festival will conclude with the “nordic sound” of pianist Tord Gustavsen and saxophonist Trygve Seim, who will jointly present their atmospheric and spiritual soundscapes.
