Munich, June 2 – A dispute at an asylum seeker accommodation in Munich’s Lochhausen district escalated on Monday afternoon when a 36-year-old man from Turkey allegedly threatened his 30-year-old Jordanian roommate with a knife. The incident prompted a significant police response, involving multiple patrol cars.
Dispute Escalates, Police Called
The altercation occurred at the accommodation on Langwieder Hauptstraße. According to police reports, staff members attempted to mediate the dispute between the two residents. However, the situation took a dramatic turn when the 36-year-old reportedly grabbed a kitchen knife.
Faced with the escalating threat, the accommodation staff and the Jordanian resident retreated to avoid further provocation and immediately contacted the police emergency services. The operations center at the police headquarters initiated a large-scale alarm, dispatching five patrol cars to the scene. An additional five patrol cars and a closed police unit were also requested as backup, underscoring the seriousness of the situation.
Suspect Apprehended Without Resistance
Fortunately, the 36-year-old had calmed down by the time police arrived. He was apprehended by officers without resistance, and the additional police units were subsequently called off. Following the incident, the Turkish national was expelled from the accommodation.
He was instructed to pack his belongings and vacate his room. According to police, arrangements are being made for him to be housed in a different facility. The exact cause of the dispute between the two men remains unclear at this time.
