Stabbing in Hamburg-St. Georg: Man Critically Injured, Suspect at Large

Hamburg, June 7 – A 36-year-old man was critically injured in a stabbing incident in Hamburg-St. Georg on Sunday afternoon. The assailant, who fled the scene, is currently being sought by police. The incident occurred at the intersection of Hammerbrookstraße and Norderstraße.

According to police reports, a man pulled out a knife and attacked the 36-year-old victim, inflicting life-threatening stab wounds to his upper body. Emergency services were immediately alerted and transported the severely injured man to a hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. Investigators found a butterfly knife at the scene, believed to be the weapon used in the attack.

Police Suspect Drug-Related Incident

A large contingent of police officers was deployed to search the surrounding area for the attacker, but as of Sunday evening, the suspect had not been apprehended. The exact motive behind the attack remains unclear, but initial findings suggest a possible connection to the drug scene.

According to preliminary information, the 36-year-old victim initially attempted to rob a woman. Another man then intervened, stabbed the alleged robber, and subsequently fled. Police believe all individuals involved are part of the drug milieu.
