43rd Hamburg Motorcycle Service: A Focus on Community and Safety
Hamburg, June 10 – The traditional Motorcycle Service (MOGO) will once again gather numerous bikers at Hamburg’s St. Michael’s Church (Michel) on June 14. This marks the 43rd iteration of the event, which for the second year in a row, will forgo the customary convoy ride. The emphasis remains firmly on the church service itself, promoting a message of respectful interaction among all road users and in daily life.
“Experienced Attention” – The Guiding Principle of MOGO 2026
This year’s MOGO is held under the motto “Achtung erfahren” (Experienced Attention), a phrase that encapsulates the core values of the event: mutual respect on the streets and in all aspects of life. This includes not only the participating bikers but also the emergency services, who are actively involved in the event. Pastor Ulrike Egener from Bornhöved will lead the service for the second time, continuing her role in guiding this significant gathering.
Bornhöved to Host the Concluding Celebration
Following the service at St. Michael’s Church, the concluding celebration will take place in Bornhöved, Schleswig-Holstein, in front of the Vicelin-Kirche St. Jacobi. Organizers have extended an open invitation to all participants to make their way to Bornhöved “independently and in accordance with traffic regulations.” This arrangement encourages individual responsibility while still providing a communal closing to the day’s events.
A Look Back and Towards the Future: No Convoy for the Second Year
The decision to hold MOGO without an accompanying convoy was also made in the previous year’s 42nd MOGO. While the service in the Michel remains a central element, the absence of the convoy highlights a shift in the event’s structure. For next year’s MOGO in 2026, organizers are committed to developing a “sustainable concept” that will continue to evolve the event while maintaining its spirit and community focus.
