The accident unfolded around 7:00 PM on Chiemgau Straße, as a 47-year-old Kia driver was traveling in the direction of Innsbrucker Ring. According to police reports, the driver initially grazed a Volkswagen but continued his journey undeterred. Shortly thereafter, he collided with a Toyota with significant force.

The impact propelled the Toyota forward, causing it to veer off the road and wrap its passenger side around a lamppost located on the median strip. The Kia, in turn, veered to the right and crashed into a wall. Two men, aged 26 and 27, were inside the Toyota and had to be extricated from the severely damaged vehicle by the fire department.

The 47-year-old Kia driver, the 27-year-old Toyota driver, and the driver of the Volkswagen sustained severe or serious injuries and were all transported to a hospital by rescue workers.

Initial findings suggest the Kia driver may have also collided with another vehicle, whose driver was reportedly unharmed. The exact reasons behind the 47-year-old driver’s actions, which led to the collision with three vehicles, remain unclear. Police have ordered a blood sample to be taken from the Kia driver to rule out any potential influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.
