Berlin-Grunewald, August 9, 2026 – A tragic incident occurred on Sunday at Halensee Lido in Berlin, where a 25-year-old man drowned. Despite swift action by lido staff, bathers, and emergency services, the man could not be saved.
Emergency Response and Rescue Efforts
According to the fire department, the young man was reported missing in the water around 2:56 PM. Before the arrival of emergency personnel, employees of the lido, alongside other bathers, immediately began searching for him.
Subsequently, divers from the Berlin Fire Department were deployed. They successfully recovered the lifeless body of the man from the water.
Despite the rapid intervention and extensive resuscitation attempts by both the fire department and paramedics, the 25-year-old could not be revived. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
