Berlin, September 21, 2026 – UFA, a prominent German production company, officially celebrated the opening of its new corporate headquarters at Schöneberger Ufer in Berlin last Thursday, September 18, 2026. The event, held under the motto “Back in Berlin,” drew more than 200 guests, including notable figures from the cultural, political, media, and business sectors, as well as employees and partners.
UFA Returns to Historical Roots in Berlin
The move to the new Berlin headquarters, which UFA occupied in Spring 2026, signifies a new chapter for the production company. UFA emphasized that this relocation marks a return to its historical roots and a strategic step towards continued development. The company aims to actively shape the German and international media landscape by producing high-quality content for broadcasters, streaming services, and platforms both domestically and abroad.
UFA CEO Sascha Schwingel highlighted the significance of the move during the opening event. “UFA is not just returning to Berlin with our new offices. We’re sending a signal and betting on the future,” Schwingel stated. He emphasized the importance of personal relations and creative collaboration, especially in a rapidly evolving industry. “Berlin is the perfect place to this end. The city, more than almost any other one, stands for diversity, speed, and the courage to make new beginnings. Here, we want to create spaces in which the next generation of great stories will develop.”
Schwingel also reaffirmed UFA’s continued commitment to Potsdam and Babelsberg, noting their strong connection through productions like ‘Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten’ and others.
Celebrities and Themed Rooms Mark the Celebration
The opening ceremony on the roof terrace of the new office building saw UFA CEO Sascha Schwingel and the UFA managing directors, including Emese Ács, Vanessa Schmit, Sascha Rustmeier, Katharina Rietz, Christian Rohde, Markus Brunnemann, Nataly Kudiabor, and Sascha Schwingel, welcoming a distinguished list of guests. The evening’s musical entertainment was provided by Constance Diezendorf, a finalist from the RTL format “Deutschland sucht den Superstar (DSDS),” and pianist Christopher Noodt. Guests also had the opportunity to explore the world of UFA through specially designed themed rooms, fostering interactive experiences in a unique atmosphere.
Strengthening Presence and Future Development
UFA, with over a century of shaping the German media landscape, believes its new headquarters will strengthen its presence in the capital. The new offices are designed to provide ideal conditions for the further development of creative work across various genres, including fiction, serial drama, show, factual, and documentary. Approximately 140 employees have been working in the new facilities since April 2026.
