Berlin Döner Price Map: Where Can You Still Find a Kebab for 3.50 Euros?
Berlin, June 16, 2026 – The döner kebab, long considered a stable and affordable staple in German daily life, has become a surprising indicator of inflation. A new digital map for Berlin, based on user submissions, now illustrates the wide disparity in prices across the city and reveals where the classic kebab can still be purchased for as little as 3.50 euros.
Once a symbol of quick, uncomplicated, and readily available food at a reasonable price, the döner’s affordability is no longer a given. Instead, it has transformed into a topic of frequent discussion in comment sections, social media, and at local counters, shifting the focus from taste and preferred vendors to the fundamental question: What should a döner cost?
Where are the prices and how much do they vary?
An updated overview is provided by kebabprice.de, a digital map that relies on user-submitted and verified entries of döner shops and their prices. While not an official survey, it offers a comprehensive collection of individual observations. The map was created by a Reddit user and exclusively tracks the price of the classic döner in bread, excluding variations like Dürüm or Shawarma.
Currently, 917 kebabs have been mapped, with 695 of them including price information. The prices range from a low of 3.50 euros to a high of 8.50 euros.
Average price exceeds seven euros
According to the data collected so far, the average döner price in Berlin is now slightly over seven euros. This indicates that in many instances, the snack no longer falls within the traditional low-price segment.
A notable aspect is the broad spectrum of prices: while some individual establishments still offer kebabs for well under five euros, others are already charging significantly more. This suggests that the price of a döner is now more heavily influenced by its specific location and surrounding environment than ever before.
Where the differences become apparent
Comparatively lower prices can still be found in districts with high competition. For example, in Neukölln, some shops, such as “Lahn-Grill” and “Star Bistro Bar,” occasionally offer döners for a nostalgic 3.50 euros.
Conversely, average prices in other districts are already considerably higher. This highlights the absence of uniform pricing structures, indicating a highly differentiated market.
Why the döner is a topic of discussion
The döner’s frequent emergence as a talking point is partly due to its inherent comparability. Few other dishes are as clearly defined and as widely available. Bread, meat, salad – these basic components make price differences immediately noticeable, making the kebab an excellent everyday reference point.
