Berlin, December 22 – As the cold season progresses, Berlin is seeing a continued presence of various respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19, influenza, and acute respiratory diseases. The latest data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) provides a comprehensive overview of the current infection landscape, highlighting incidence rates and affected demographics.

COVID-19 in Berlin: 7-Day Incidence at 9

COVID-19, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, remains a prevalent respiratory illness. Symptoms commonly include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. In the past week, Berlin recorded 339 new COVID-19 cases. The highest 7-day incidence rate for COVID-19 is observed in the 80+ age group, with 41.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Across all age groups, Berlin’s current 7-day COVID-19 incidence stands at 9 per 100,000 residents as of December 22, 2025. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,475,396 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases have been reported in Berlin.
