Discovery of a Body
Investigators have now found a male body in a forest near Potsdam. A spokesperson for the Berlin public prosecutor’s office confirmed that initial findings point to a violent crime. Reports from “Bild” and “B.Z.” indicate that the body was buried in the forest. According to boulevard newspapers, an evaluation of the man’s mobile phone data led investigators to the discovery. The man is believed to have died from massive force applied to his neck and head.
Is it the Missing Businessman?
The identity of the deceased has not yet been conclusively established, as stated by spokesman Michael Petzold of the Berlin public prosecutor’s office on Sunday. More information is expected to be released later this week. The police had appealed to the public for information about Ismet K.’s whereabouts and any observations 14 days after his disappearance. The 3rd Homicide Commission of the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) had also published a photo of the man and asked for any relevant details.
Ismet K. disappeared in the Waidmannslust district of Reinickendorf. “B.Z.” reported that no ransom demand was made to the family after his disappearance, leading to the conclusion that it was not a typical kidnapping.
