Berlin, July 30 – Brera Serviced Apartments has announced the opening of its first location in the German capital, Berlin. The company will operate 56 apartments within a mixed-use building at Schloßstraße 123, a project developed by Midstad. This expansion is a strategic move for Brera, aiming to tap into Berlin’s dynamic economic and innovation landscape.
Brera’s Strategic Expansion into Berlin
“Berlin is one of Europe’s most important economic and innovation hubs, making it a logical next step in our growth trajectory,” stated Matteo Ghedini, founder and CEO of Brera Serviced Apartments. He emphasized the company’s targeted expansion strategy, focusing on locations that strategically complement their portfolio and offer significant added value to guests. “With our first property in Berlin, we are creating an attractive offering for business travelers, project employees, and city tourists, while strengthening our presence in one of Germany’s most significant markets.”
56 Apartments Across Two Floors
The 56 apartments are situated across approximately 1,800 square meters on the third and fourth floors of the building, arranged around an inner courtyard. The lower floors of the building will retain their existing retail spaces, which include a Peek & Cloppenburg store and a Fitseveneleven fitness studio with a wellness area. This integration of serviced apartments by Midstad enhances the existing retail use with a hospitality offering, further developing the mixed-use concept of the Schloßstraße location in Berlin’s southwest.
Targeting Business and Leisure Travelers
The 56 units are primarily aimed at business travelers but are also designed to appeal to leisure guests, as well as those seeking medium to long-term stays. According to the companies involved, guests will benefit from the central location, excellent transport links, and the well-developed infrastructure of the surrounding area.
Stefan Catic, Head of Operator Search at PKF hospitality group, commented on the partnership: “Serviced apartments are a dynamically growing segment and offer great potential, especially in urban locations. We are delighted to have found Brera Serviced Apartments, an experienced operator for Midstad’s project, who perfectly fits the location and the building’s usage concept.”
Berlin’s Growing Hospitality Market
Brera’s entry into the Berlin market reflects a broader trend of expansion within the city’s hospitality sector. Other recent developments include the Odyssey Hotel Group establishing a presence in Berlin with two new hotels, Limehome expanding its serviced apartment offerings in the Boxhagener Kiez, and Numa acquiring a new property with 82 units in Wedding. Additionally, Deutsche Hospitality has strengthened its Berlin presence with the Zleep Hotel Berlin Airport, and Radisson Individuals has launched in the German capital.
This surge in activity underscores Berlin’s appeal as a prime destination for both business and leisure travel, attracting a diverse range of hospitality providers seeking to capitalize on the city’s robust market. The continued investment in serviced apartments and hotels highlights the increasing demand for flexible and high-quality accommodation options in this vibrant European metropolis.
