Munich, September 1 – A brutal robbery at a kiosk on Ackermannstraße in Munich has left the criminal police puzzled. The incident, which occurred on Sunday evening, involved four masked men and a mysterious woman who fled the scene with the perpetrators. The robbers used pepper spray and made off with around 5000 Euros in cash.

Kiosk Closed for Renovation, Victim Inside

The incident took place at approximately 10:30 PM on Sunday evening. A 37-year-old man from the Munich district, whose identity has not been released, was present in the kiosk, which has reportedly been closed for renovations for an extended period. The circumstances surrounding his presence in the closed establishment are currently under investigation.

Mysterious Woman’s Role Under Scrutiny

Accompanying the 37-year-old, a native of Iraq, was a woman. Her presence in the shop and her relationship to the victim are presently unclear. Police have stated that only her personal details are known, and investigators are considering the possibility that she acted as a decoy for the robbers.

Attackers Used Pepper Spray, Fled with Cash and Phone

According to current police findings, four unknown and masked men suddenly entered the kiosk. “One of the men sprayed pepper spray into the face of the 37-year-old,” a police spokesperson stated. The victim suffered irritation to his eyes and respiratory tract but did not require on-site medical attention.

Following the assault, the attackers seized a bag containing a mobile phone and approximately 5000 Euros in cash. The four perpetrators, along with the woman, then fled the kiosk on foot. Several passers-by witnessed the five individuals running towards Winzererstraße, where they entered a vehicle and drove away in an unknown direction.

Extensive Manhunt Unsuccessful

Witnesses immediately alerted the police by calling the emergency number 110. The police headquarters promptly dispatched several patrol cars to the crime scene. An extensive manhunt was launched immediately but proved unsuccessful, as the getaway vehicle and its five occupants had already vanished.

Forensic teams conducted extensive evidence collection at the scene. The investigation has been taken over by Commissioner 21 of the Munich Criminal Police.

Descriptions of the Suspects

The four male perpetrators were described as being approximately 20 to 25 years old, about 1.80 meters tall, of slender build, and wearing dark clothing and masks.

The woman was described as being approximately 1.60 meters tall, of slender build, with blonde hair tied in a ponytail.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

The police are appealing to the public for assistance. They are asking anyone who observed anything suspicious in the area of Ackermannstraße, Klausingweg, and Winzererstraße (Schwabing) during the specified period that could be related to this incident to come forward. They are also seeking information regarding the described individuals or a vehicle.

Any relevant information should be reported to the Munich Police Headquarters (Commissioner 21, telephone 089/2910-0) or any other police station.

Ongoing Investigation

The criminal police are continuing their investigation into the brutal robbery, focusing on identifying the perpetrators and clarifying the mysterious role of the woman involved. The incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in combating such crimes in the city.
