Clara Zetkin Prize 2026 in Hamburg: Submissions Open Until January 11, 2026

Hamburg, January 10, 2026 – The Left Party (Die Linke) Hamburg is currently accepting submissions for the Clara Zetkin Prize 2026, an award dedicated to recognizing and promoting feminist work. The deadline for applications and nominations is January 11, 2026, at 23:59 CET.

The Clara Zetkin Prize, now in its sixteenth year, aims to increase public awareness of dedicated and selfless engagement against sexism and patriarchy. It seeks to encourage individuals and groups who contribute to a more just feminist society through their efforts.

Recognizing Diverse Feminist Contributions

Feminists make significant contributions daily to a supportive, vibrant, and creative community, whether as activists on the streets, online, in workplace organizing, social movements, or in precarious jobs, care work, volunteering, or their social environments. However, their achievements and the public debate surrounding them often remain overlooked. The Clara Zetkin Prize addresses this gap and serves as an inspiration to achieve more successes in the feminist struggle, in the spirit of Clara Zetkin.

Who Can Apply or Be Nominated?

Current feminist projects or individuals can apply directly for the Clara Zetkin Prize or be nominated by members of The Left Party. The award recognizes outstanding feminist achievements in society and politics.

From all submissions, five projects or individuals will be nominated and invited to the award ceremony, expected to take place in Hamburg. The winning project will then be announced at the ceremony. The prize money for the Clara Zetkin Prize is 2,500 Euros.

Submission Details and Award Ceremony

Projects can be submitted online via the official website of The Left Party until January 11, 2026. The award ceremony is scheduled for February 28, 2026, in Hamburg. The exact location for the event will be announced shortly.

This initiative by The Left Party Hamburg underscores the importance of recognizing and celebrating feminist efforts that drive social change and advocate for equality. The prize not only provides financial support but also offers a platform for these crucial contributions to gain broader public recognition.
