Coolblue Opens First Berlin Store, Expanding German Retail Presence

Berlin, June 9, 2026 – Electronics retailer Coolblue has officially opened its first store in Berlin, marking a significant step in the company’s expansion of its physical retail presence in Germany. Located at Tauentzienstraße 7, between Breitscheidplatz and Wittenbergplatz, the new flagship store offers customers a wide array of electronics and household appliances across 1,756 square meters, designed to provide a pleasant shopping experience.

Enhanced Customer Experience and Service

Since late 2025, Coolblue has been serving the capital region with its own delivery staff from its logistics center in Berlin-Schönefeld, focusing on large household appliances and televisions. The new store now provides a central hub where customers can experience both small and large products firsthand, receive personalized and brand-independent advice, and take products home immediately.

The new flagship store features eight distinct product worlds spread across two floors. This Berlin location is the first to fully implement Coolblue’s evolved concept, placing an even stronger emphasis on the product experience. Trained specialists are available in all product worlds to assist customers in selecting the ideal product for their individual needs. This advisory service is complemented by a curated product selection and realistic application scenarios, ranging from home office setups to gaming stations. Furthermore, an optional in-store mode notifies customers of their arrival for a consultation appointment. A welcome pillar at the entrance allows customers to quickly and easily register for advice or pick up ordered goods via touchscreen. A new feature is also the parcel wall, where online orders can be collected instantly after purchase using a QR code.

Modern Design and Customer-Friendly Amenities

The store’s open design concept contributes to a pleasant atmosphere, further enhanced by complimentary coffee or tea and a dedicated play area for younger guests, allowing parents to consult with staff undisturbed. Long queues at checkouts are a thing of the past, as customers can now pay directly with their consultant in their respective product world.

Urs Möller, Coolblue’s Country Manager Germany, commented on the opening: "Berlin stands for diversity, innovation, and lived urbanity. As the country’s largest and most dynamic retail market, the capital combines international appeal with a particularly trend and technology-savvy clientele. That’s precisely why Tauentzienstraße is the ideal location for us. Our aim is to offer the diverse customers in Berlin a personal and comfortable shopping experience where they are at the center of attention."

Industry Trends and Future Outlook

The opening of Coolblue’s Berlin store aligns with broader trends in the retail sector, including the increasing integration of online and offline shopping experiences. This move by Coolblue highlights the importance of physical stores for product demonstration, personalized service, and immediate availability, even in an increasingly digitalized market. The company aims to cater to the evolving demands of consumers who seek both convenience and expert guidance in their purchasing decisions.

Coolblue’s expansion into Berlin’s vibrant retail landscape is expected to further intensify competition within the electronics market, benefiting consumers through enhanced service offerings and a wider range of accessible products.
