COVID-19 Update: Hamburg Reports 12 New Cases, 7-Day Incidence at 6.6

Hamburg, December 24 – The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has reported 12 new COVID-19 infections in Hamburg for Wednesday, December 24, 2025, alongside six new fatalities. This brings the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the city to 827,635.

Current COVID-19 Situation in Hamburg

The 7-day incidence rate in Hamburg is currently 6.6 per 100,000 residents, based on 125 cases registered over the past seven days. This figure reflects a slight increase in daily reported cases compared to the previous day.

The age group most affected by infections continues to be individuals aged 35-59, accounting for 309,505 of the total cases. The distribution of cases across other age groups is as follows:

  • 00-04 years: 24,849 cases (25.53% of population)
  • 05-14 years: 100,452 cases (56.29% of population)
  • 15-34 years: 275,476 cases (54.49% of population)
  • 35-59 years: 309,505 cases (46.78% of population)
  • 60-79 years: 83,331 cases (25.07% of population)
  • 80+ years: 33,549 cases (28.72% of population)

National Overview of COVID-19 in Germany

Nationwide, the RKI reported 864 new COVID-19 infections as of December 24, 2025. The national 7-day incidence rate is 8.3 per 100,000 inhabitants. With 23 newly registered deaths, the total number of coronavirus-related fatalities in Germany has reached 188,755.

The overall number of recorded COVID-19 cases in Germany stands at 39,169,029. The mortality rate remains at 0.48%.

According to data available up to April 8, 2023, 76.3% of the German population (63,493,268 individuals) had received basic immunization against COVID-19. A total of 64,806,784 people, representing 77.9% of the total population, had received at least one vaccination dose. Overall, 188,244,457 vaccine doses were administered across Germany.
