COVID-19 Update: Munich District Reports 4 New Infections, Bavaria Sees 143

Munich, Bavaria, Germany – The latest data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) indicates a continued, albeit low, level of COVID-19 activity in the Munich district and across Bavaria. As of Saturday, December 13, 2025, the Munich district registered 4 new infections, contributing to a 7-day incidence rate of 7.6 per 100,000 inhabitants. The total number of confirmed cases in the Munich district has now reached 170,048.

Current COVID-19 Situation in Bavaria

Bavaria’s 7-day incidence rate stands at 9.5 per 100,000 residents. The state reported 143 new infections and 7 new deaths compared to the previous day. The cumulative number of positive COVID-19 tests in Bavaria is 6,889,994. The age group most affected by the virus in Bavaria remains those aged 35-59, with 2,631,892 infections.

In calendar week 49/2025, there were 53 new reported deaths.

COVID-19 Vaccination Status in Germany

While the daily COVID-19 vaccination dashboard was discontinued on April 8, 2023, historical data provides insight into the vaccination efforts. As of that date, 76.3% of the total population (63,493,268 individuals) had received basic immunization. A total of 64,806,784 people, representing 77.9% of the population, had received at least one vaccination. In total, 188,244,457 vaccine doses were administered in Germany by April 2023.
