Drunk Driver Causes Extensive Damage in Munich Accident
Munich, August 23 – A 22-year-old Spanish national, residing in Munich, caused a significant traffic accident on Friday evening, August 21, 2026, around 10:15 PM. Driving a VW passenger car on Guardinistraße in Neuhadern, outbound from the city center, the driver veered off the road and collided with a total of ten parked vehicles.
The incident occurred near building numbers 78-88, where the driver first struck seven parked cars on the right side of the road. Subsequently, the vehicle collided with three additional parked cars on the left side of the roadway. The 22-year-old sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to a hospital by emergency services.
Driver Intoxicated and Without a License
During the accident investigation, police determined the 22-year-old driver was under the influence of alcohol. Furthermore, the driver displayed behavior indicative of drug use, prompting authorities to order a blood test. It was also revealed that the individual did not possess a valid driver’s license.
The driver’s VW and four of the parked vehicles sustained such severe damage that they required towing from the scene. The total estimated damage from the accident amounts to approximately 90,500 Euros.
Guardinistraße remained completely closed for approximately four hours while accident reconstruction and cleanup efforts were underway.
