Braak, December 22 – A dramatic accident occurred in the Stormarn district on Friday afternoon, resulting in the death of a 63-year-old farmer. The incident took place around 4:20 PM on Höhenkamp street, shortly before Braaker Mühle, where the farmer was hit by an SUV. He died at the scene from his injuries, as confirmed by the Lübeck Police Department control center.
Tragedy Unfolds as Farmer Directs Traffic
According to initial findings from investigators, the tragedy unfolded when the farmer, from the Herzogtum Lauenburg district, was standing in the dark on the road, attempting to direct another vehicle. At that moment, a 61-year-old woman from the Stormarn district, driving her SUV from Stemwarde towards Braak, struck the man.
Immediate Response and Investigation
Despite immediate efforts, all help for the 63-year-old came too late. A forensic expert was dispatched to the accident scene by order of the Lübeck public prosecutor’s office to reconstruct the sequence of events.
The Höhenkamp road was closed following the accident to facilitate investigation and cleanup. The driver of the SUV suffered from shock but was physically unharmed. A blood sample was taken from the 61-year-old driver, and the body of the 63-year-old victim was seized for further examination.
