Munich, April 12 – Police have apprehended a suspected graffiti sprayer near a Munich train station early this morning. A witness tip led to the swift arrest of a 20-year-old individual, who was allegedly caught defacing an S-Bahn train.

According to a statement from the Federal Police, the incident of property damage due to graffiti occurred at the Munich-Heimeranplatz station. A vigilant witness observed several young people spray-painting an S-Bahn train and promptly informed the police.
Officers from the Munich Police Headquarters responded quickly and were able to apprehend a 20-year-old suspect near the scene. The individual was subsequently handed over to the Federal Police for further processing. Other individuals reportedly involved in the act were not found at the location.
Evidence Seized, Investigation Ongoing
During the control, items that could be linked to the crime were secured. Furthermore, by order of the Munich I public prosecutor’s office, the suspect’s mobile phone was confiscated as part of the investigation. The estimated damage caused by the graffiti is approximately 1,690 Euros.
Following the completion of initial police measures, the 20-year-old suspect was released. However, the investigation into the incident is still ongoing, with authorities working to gather further evidence and determine the full extent of the involvement of the apprehended individual and any other potential perpetrators.
