From Thursday, April 23rd, to Sunday, May 3rd, 2026, the Schlossplatz in Aschaffenburg, Bavaria, on the border with Hesse, will be transformed into a unique spectacle: The “33rd Hamburg Fish Market – The Original on Tour” will once again visit the city center, bringing a taste of the North Sea coast to the historic backdrop of Schloss Johannisburg. This was announced by the city marketing department on its website.

For over 30 years, this popular event has delighted visitors with a wide array of fresh fish dishes, from fried fish and salmon to North Sea shrimp. Beyond the culinary delights, attendees can immerse themselves in the vibrant Hanseatic market atmosphere, complete with traditional shanty music.

For a faster journey, the ICE service between Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof and Munich also stops in Aschaffenburg. This high-speed train connects Frankfurt and Aschaffenburg in just 25 minutes without intermediate stops.
