The police are advising visitors to keep a close eye on their belongings. As of early June, the Westbad in Pasing alone has recorded 26 thefts. This compares to a total of 38 cases for the entire last bathing season at the same location. The Michaelbad is also a focal point, with ten cases registered this year.
Mobile phones, wallets, and other small items are particularly popular targets for thieves. For instance, at the end of May, a handbag containing a well-filled wallet with 800 euros in cash was stolen, as reported by the tz newspaper.

The police headquarters recommend that outdoor pool visitors bring as few valuables as possible or store them securely in lockers provided on-site. Should a theft occur despite these precautions, individuals are advised not to hesitate and to call the emergency number 110 immediately, according to the tz.
This increase in thefts comes amidst growing complaints about disrespectful behavior in municipal outdoor pools in Augsburg, although the current police warning specifically addresses the situation in Munich.
