International Women’s Day in Berlin: Mosques Host City-Wide Iftar for Women
On International Women’s Day, March 8, 2026, women from various mosques and Muslim associations in Berlin are extending an invitation to a city-wide Iftar (breaking of the fast) at multiple locations. This annual event, initiated by the Network of Muslim Women in Berlin, aims to create spaces for encounter, exchange, and solidarity among all women, regardless of their origin, religion, or worldview.
What is the Women’s Iftar?

Why is this event important?
The organizers, through the Women’s Iftar, seek to open up opportunities for encounter and exchange, and to strengthen women’s solidarity. The initiative stems from the Network of Berlin Muslim Women, which brings together active women from diverse mosques and Muslim associations to address common concerns. This network was established as part of the kiez-einander project by RAA Berlin and is coordinated by the RAA Berlin.
