Kultur Palast Harburg Reopens After Four-Year Renovation
Hamburg, September 5 – The Kultur Palast in Hamburg-Harburg officially reopened its doors on Friday evening, marking the culmination of a four-year-long, extensive renovation project. This historic citizen’s house, previously known as the Rieckhof cultural center, has undergone a comprehensive modernization costing approximately nine million euros, jointly financed by the city and the district.
The newly renovated facility will now be managed by the Kultur Palast Foundation, an organization known for its commitment to cultural education and community engagement.
Nine Million Euro Investment in Culture

Following the successful model established at the Kultur Palast in Billstedt, the foundation intends to prioritize musical early education through its ‘Klangstrolche’ program and youth development with the ‘HipHop Academy’ in Harburg. These initiatives are designed to foster artistic talent and provide educational opportunities for young people in the district.
The long-standing uncertainty surrounding the financing of these crucial course offerings has been temporarily resolved through donations, securing their operation until at least the end of the year.
