Investigators are working to determine the motive behind the incident, which saw a 71-year-old woman from the Rosenheim district killed and her 82-year-old ex-husband held captive and tied up in the suspect’s Munich apartment.
Homicide Warrant Issued for 42-Year-Old Suspect
A warrant for homicide has been issued against the 42-year-old suspect. Police became aware of the case over the weekend after receiving tips that something might be amiss with the 71-year-old woman and her former partner. On Saturday evening, special forces checked the couple’s shared home in Bruckmühl (Rosenheim district) but did not find the residents. However, the woman’s body was later discovered in a nearby stream.
Missing Man Found Tied Up in Munich Apartment
Investigations led to a German man from Munich. On Sunday evening, the 42-year-old was arrested by special forces in his apartment. “The missing man was found tied up in the apartment,” police reported. The 82-year-old was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
Special Commission “Bach” Investigates
The 42-year-old is now in a correctional facility. The Rosenheim Criminal Police’s special commission, dubbed “Bach,” comprising 35 officers, is tasked with uncovering the background of the crime. Specialists from the State Criminal Police Office in Munich are also assisting with the case.
