Man Kidnapped and Robbed in Berlin – Suspects Flee
Berlin, April 13, 2026 – A 52-year-old man was kidnapped, transported, and robbed in Berlin-Lichtenberg, according to police reports. The incident occurred on Sunday morning when the man was on his way to a bank branch on Konrad-Wolf-Straße.
The victim was reportedly overpowered by two masked assailants who then forced him into a transporter. Inside the vehicle, two other masked men were waiting. The kidnappers bound the man’s hands and feet before driving him to an allotment garden area on Wartenberger Straße.
Once at the allotment garden, the perpetrators abandoned the transporter with the kidnapped man inside. They stole a four-figure cash amount, a mobile phone, documents, and a key from the victim.
After approximately two hours, the 52-year-old managed to free himself. He then sought help from a passerby, who promptly alerted the police. The victim sustained injuries to his ribs, arm, wrists, and nose and was subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident. Further details regarding the suspects and their whereabouts were not immediately available. The motive behind the kidnapping and robbery remains under investigation.
