Masked Robber Ambushes Employee, Flees with 30,000 Euros from Munich Betting Office
Munich, September 2 – A betting office in Munich’s Neuhausen district was the scene of a daring robbery on Tuesday morning, where a masked assailant, armed with a knife, ambushed an employee and made off with approximately 30,000 euros. The incident unfolded shortly before the betting office opened for business. At approximately 10:30 AM, the employee was taking out the trash in the inner courtyard of the building on Leonrodstrasse. The unknown perpetrator then forced his helpless victim through a back door, up the building’s staircase, and into the betting office itself. There, he compelled the 56-year-old woman to open the safe. The mere sight of the knife was enough to intimidate the employee, rendering further explicit threats unnecessary. The safe contained around 30,000 euros, which the robber promptly seized before fleeing the scene.
Minutes after the robber’s escape, at 10:35 AM, the traumatized employee managed to alert the police emergency hotline. A large-scale manhunt was immediately launched, involving more than ten patrol cars scouring the area for the fugitive. Despite the rapid response, the perpetrator managed to evade capture and remains at large.

The 56-year-old employee, besides suffering minor physical injuries, was deeply shaken by the ordeal. The Munich Police Department’s Kriminalkommissariat 21 has taken over the investigation into the robbery.
Authorities have released a description of the suspected perpetrator: a male, approximately 1.85 meters tall, wearing a black and red vest, black jogging pants, black gloves, a large bicycle helmet, and a grey-black cloth covering his mouth.
The police are appealing to the public for assistance. They are asking anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the vicinity of Rotkreuzplatz, Nymphenburger Strasse, Volkartstrasse, Leonrodstrasse, and Landshuter Allee (Neuhausen) during the specified time frame to come forward.
