Munich Airport Christmas Market 2025: Opening Hours, Parking, and Lichterfahrten

The Christmas and Winter Market at Munich Airport, a beloved annual tradition, opened its doors on Friday, November 14, and will welcome visitors until Sunday, December 28, 2025. Located in the expansive MAC Forum between Terminal 1 and 2, this festive event offers much more than just a place to catch a flight. Opening Hours: When Can You Visit the Christmas Market?

The market operates daily, with special hours on Christmas Eve:

  • Monday to Sunday: 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM
  • Christmas Eve (December 24): 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Program and Stalls: What to Expect at the Market

With approximately 40 stalls, the market offers a diverse range of food, drinks, and gift ideas. Beyond the traditional bratwurst and mulled wine, you’ll find local specialties and unique crafts. The program also features daily music and children’s entertainment, alongside several special events:

Ice Skating

A highlight for many, the market boasts an ice rink. For just five euros, you can enjoy a full day of skating. Skate rentals are available for an additional five euros. If you bring your own skates, sharpening services are also offered on-site.

Curling

Try your hand at curling on a dedicated lane. A one-hour session costs 25 euros.

Ceramic Painting Workshop

Unleash your creativity at the ceramic painting workshop. This activity is available on Thursdays and Fridays from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Participation is free, but you’ll need to pay for the ceramic pieces and shipping. Groups of more than six people are advised to register in advance via email: [email protected].

Christmas Bauble Design Workshop

New this year, a workshop to design your own Christmas baubles will take place on Sunday, December 7, and Sunday, December 14, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Lichterfahrten (Light Tours)

Experience a unique tour of the airport’s apron aboard a bus, adorned with festive lights. These 50-minute tours are narrated live by a guide. Tickets cost twelve euros for adults and seven euros for concessions. Children under five years old ride for free. The meeting point for these tours is the ‘Lichterfahrten’ hut at the Christmas market. Further information and booking details can be found on the Munich Airport website.

Arrival: Best Parking Options for the Christmas Market

While airport parking can often be expensive, visitors to the Christmas market can take advantage of discounted rates at parking garage P20. The first hour of parking is free, and up to three hours costs a flat rate of five euros. Each additional hour is eight euros.
