Kitchen Fire Prompts Emergency Response
The incident occurred on Wegenerstrasse around 9:05 AM. The fire originated in the daycare’s kitchen. The director of the facility, whose name has not been released, noticed the flames and immediately alerted the fire department. Demonstrating remarkable presence of mind, she also initiated initial attempts to extinguish the fire using a fire extinguisher.
Simultaneously, the daycare staff acted promptly to evacuate the children and other personnel from the building. As smoke intensified, the director commendably closed the kitchen door, effectively containing the fire and limiting its spread, while awaiting the arrival of professional firefighters.

The Munich Fire Department commended the director’s exemplary conduct. “Thanks to the closed door and the resulting lack of oxygen, the fire was unable to spread further,” explained fire department experts. This action significantly aided the firefighters in quickly bringing the blaze under control.
Upon arrival, firefighters rapidly extinguished the fire and then used high-performance fans to clear the building of smoke. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the children or staff members.
