Munich Reverts to 50 km/h Speed Limit on Mittlerer Ring
Munich, Bavaria, Germany, January 14, 2026 – The city of Munich has reinstated a 50 km/h speed limit on a 2.5-kilometer stretch of the Mittlerer Ring, specifically along the Landshuter Allee. This decision, announced last week by Mayor Dieter Reiter (SPD), comes after approximately 18 months of a 30 km/h restriction, which was implemented to improve air quality. The signage indicating the previous lower speed limit has been removed and replaced.
