Munich, July 14, 2026 – The DNA Club, a prominent venue in Munich’s Werksviertel, is set to cease operations by the end of September this year. The announcement was made by the operating team via a statement on Instagram. The club, which opened its doors nearly three years ago on Atelierstraße within the former Pfanni factory grounds, quickly established itself as a vital part of the city’s electronic music scene.
A Brief History of DNA Club
The DNA Club aimed to blend an industrial “Lost-Place-Vibe” with modern lighting and sound technology, creating a unique atmosphere for its patrons. Spanning approximately 190 square meters, it accommodated up to 400 guests. Since late 2023, DNA became a key destination in Munich’s nightlife, focusing on techno, hardgroove, trance, and fast house sounds.
The club regularly hosted both national and international artists, leading to sold-out nights. Notable DJs who have graced its decks include Kobosil, Felix Jaehn, Thomas Schumacher, Victor Ruiz, Nicolas Julian, A.D.H.S., Anna Reusch, Karla Blum, Marika Rossa, Klanglos, KUKO, Radical Redemption, Trancemaster Krause, and davyboi.
The Closure and Unanswered Questions
In their statement, the operators reflected on the club’s journey, emphasizing how an initial idea to create a new space for electronic music evolved into a firmly established hub for the scene within three years. “The DNA was never just a room. The DNA was the people in it,” the post read.
However, the statement did not provide specific reasons for the closure. Furthermore, there is no information regarding a potential future location. The phrasing that “the DNA Club in its current form” will close its doors has led to speculation about a possible continuation at a different venue, though this remains unconfirmed.
Upcoming Events and Community Focus
The club is scheduled to operate regularly until the end of September. The remaining months will be dedicated to the community that has shaped the club over the past three years. “Three letters, three years. A story that has grown bigger than we could have imagined at the beginning,” the operators stated.
Events featuring well-known DJs such as Trancemaster Krause, davyboi, Stella Bossi, GIØ, HiTMiLØW, and Marlon Hoffstadt are planned for the coming months, offering patrons a final chance to experience the DNA Club.
Munich’s Ongoing Club Closures
The closure of DNA Club continues a trend of club closures in Munich. Recently, it was also announced that the Blitz Club would be vacating its current location on Museum Island at the beginning of August, following an inability to reach an agreement on a contract extension. This highlights a challenging period for the city’s nightlife and electronic music scene.
