Munich’s Skyline Set to Transform with New 155-Meter Skyscrapers
Munich, May 21 – The Bavarian capital is gearing up for a dramatic alteration of its cityscape with the development of two new high-rise buildings, each reaching a height of 155 meters. These structures, part of the ‘Paketpost-Quartier’ project, are set to significantly change Munich’s skyline, towering approximately 40 to 50 meters above current landmarks such as the Frauenkirche and the headquarters of BMW and Hypovereinsbank.
The ambitious real estate project, located two kilometers west of Munich’s main train station, is slated for completion in 2033. Ralf Büschl, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Büschl Unternehmensgruppe, the company responsible for the project, envisions the development as a ’15-minute city’. This concept aims to ensure that all essential daily amenities are accessible within a 15-minute walk or bike ride from residents’ homes. A testament to this vision, the project includes provisions for 4,000 bicycle parking spaces, highlighting a departure from conventional high-rise construction approaches.
